End of Year Reflections

Right now, you are all lit up with the possibility of what 2022 has in store.

I'm right with you.

But before you close the door on 2021...it's time to take stock of all the wins, successes, and lessons learned in the past year.

You totally want to skip this.

But taking stock of your achievements will set the tone of the year to come.

Reflecting on your wins gives your brain evidence that you created things to celebrate.

You aren't good at this yet.

You feel weird and uncomfortable about celebrating yourself.

This is normal...and is a skill that takes practice.

The more you spend time being intentional about acknowledging how amazing you are...the more amazing you become.

Because our thoughts about ourselves create our experience in life.

In the same way as our artwork comes to life first through the concepts in our heads.

Celebrating yourself is the quickest way to grow your self-confidence and grit because of the thoughts you start thinking about yourself when you do.

So before toasting the New Year, make a list of all that you created this year, of what you are most proud of, of your successes.

And with that energy, go ahead and kick open the door to 2022. 🎉

Happy Friday and Happy New Year!

xo,
Teresa

Teresa Haag

I'm a gritty urban landscape painter.

My work is messy, and imperfect...just like me.

I work in oil on top of newspaper covered canvas because of the texture, depth, and chatter the newspaper creates below the surface.

I paint what I see, without any prettification.

It is what it is, and it’s perfect that way.

The running themes in my work are resilience, grit, and self-determination.

It doesn’t matter the hand we are dealt, it’s what we decide to do with it.
